Main Purpose of Job

Provide Instrumentation and process control support for Tissue Manufacturing, and  Recycled Fiber operations  to ensure EHS, quality, productivity and cost objectives are achieved.

Safety:


* Comply with all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) rules and regulations at all times. 


* Ensure safety job cards are completed by target date.

Quality:


* Report  and correct defective equipment


* Check oil levels and filtering equipment on pneumatic systems


* Carry out daily check sheets


* Ensure no reworks or repeat failures


* Exhibit good fault finding skills –standard approach e.g.

4SPS


* Ensure all job cards are completed and inputted timeously

Housekeeping:


* Maintain world class levels of housekeeping according to the 5’s housekeeping standards

Productivity:


* Ensure correct allocation of spares from engineering stores


* Support operating teams to achieve set KPI’s


* Corrects equipment non-conformances.


* Responsible to execute statutory and KCC equipment maintenance standards.


* Maintains a wide range of Instrument & control equipment such as Distributed Control Systems,Analysers, Boiler and  Burner systems, level, pressure and flow devices.


* Expert programming and fault finding on DCS controlled machinery.


* Works with Mechanical team Leaders and Engineers to resolve reliability issues.


* Carries out Standby Duties.


* Ensuring all documentation, including schematic and instrument loop drawings and data is recorded correctly and systematically.

Required Qualifications / Experience

•             Trade Tested Instrument Technician combined with N5 or equivalent tertiary qualification.

•             Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Technician in Manufacturing & FMCG environment.

•             Hands on experience with a variety of Distributed and other control systems.
