We are seeking an experienced and driven Business Development Manager to be part of our iconic hotel.

In this dynamic role, you will work closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing to drive hotel results and elevate our brand.

A little taste of your day-to-day:  


* Primarily responsible for conversion of groups & events segments as well as account & lead generation to build a sustainable business pipeline for the hotel.


* Develop sales action plans to ensure that the mix of activities prescribed by the sales platform are prioritised and that they complement each business units’ revenue aspirations


* Identify new source markets and create strategies to penetrate them.


* Identify business opportunities across multiple segments and F&B to assist hotel achieving total revenue goals.


* Promote IHG offers through trade shows and conferences in professional and industry groups.


* Complete monthly reporting and update appropriate IHG systems.


* Work with the hotel team to ensure site inspections and VIP client visits are coordinated and be present when appropriate.


* Form strategic alliances and partnerships to develop partnership and sponsorship opportunities to grow business, activities and promotions building awareness; and raise the profile of the InterContinental brand to their customer bases.


* Prepare tactical offers based on clients’ requirements.


* Set targets and deliver annual room night and revenue goals as budgeted.


* Deliver on the brand promise of InterContinental luxury to all clients and guests.


* Monitor competitor practices and strategies in order to understand competitor trends/offers and ensure the InterContinental Adelaide product and services are ahead of the competition.  If necessary, refine sales strategies accordingly.


* Report monthly on sales activities, conversions against targets and pipeline reports.


* Respond to all enquiries in accordance with IHG Guidelines.
