Mailroom Clerk/Printer

POSITION SUMMARY:

Operates mailroom equipment to process letters each day.

Delivers and picks up mail throughout the courthouse and services center at least once daily.

Prepares bulk mailings and sorts mail for County departments.

Operates binding/sealing equipment, digital press, printers, and color copiers occasionally and as needed.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions


* Operates various mail machines.


* Pickup and delivery of mail to County departments 


* Prepares bulk mailings.

Knowledge of USPS regulations.


* Answers USPS questions that County employees may have.


* Sorts County mail daily to ready for delivery to departments.


* Operates equipment in the print center, including digital production machines, printers, color copiers, and binding/sealing/folding equipment.


* Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


* High school diploma or G.E.D. 


* Graphic Arts background (Vo-tech) or Copy Center experience preferred.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


* Working knowledge of the operation of mail machines.


* Basic math and computer skills, including the ability to measure.


* Ability to engage fellow County employees and various internal customers.


*  Ability to speak, read, and understand the English language.


* Ability to handle stress.


* Physical presence in the office is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


* Lifting of parcels up to 30 lbs.

* Standing by the machine for extended periods to watch the machine while it runs continuously.


* Pushing/pulling of mail cartons daily.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Typical office environment.

May be exposed to loud printing production equipment regularly.
