Counselor - Child Support

Description & Requirements

We are seeking a dedicated Counselor- Child Support to join our Kansas Child Support Program.

In this role, you will function as a case manager, providing essential support in processing legal documents and delivering exceptional customer service.

Your responsibilities will include managing tasks related to client interactions, handling email correspondence, and making phone calls to ensure efficient communication and service delivery.

This is an onsite, full-time position working Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Time.

The ideal candidate will live in or very near Kansas City.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Provide case management services to an assigned case load of child support cases and apply knowledge of policies, procedures, and state and federal regulations to progress cases through the administrative and legal systems.

- Establish and enforce child support orders.

- Conduct research to locate non-custodial parents.

- Research and review records to gather information vital to cases.

- Educate customers on the process and their options and respond to customer inquiries.

- Verify existing data on an automated child support system.

Minimum Requirements

- High school diploma or GED required and 0-2 years of relevant professional experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Experience in Child Support, case management, or social work is preferred.
