Business Development Manager

Business Development Manager

This role is responsible for driving direct sales activities for new and existing strategic accounts within the Sustainability Services sector across North America.

The primary focus will be on expanding business related to Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) solutions.

The role requires spending at least 50% of the time outside the office, engaging with clients, attending trade shows, and participating in relevant industry events.

Key responsibilities include developing and executing strategies to capture market share in the sustainability sector, growing existing strategic accounts, and identifying new business opportunities.

Collaboration with management, marketing, and business line leadership is essential to strategically position Intertek's sustainability services in the North American market.

Position Responsibilities

Sales and Client Engagement:

Sell sustainability services including LCA, GHG, and ESG solutions to both strategic and new accounts across North America through in-depth research, prospecting, and networking.

Employ outbound and inbound sales strategies, such as following up on marketing campaigns, responding to inbound leads, and collaborating with other Intertek sales teams.

Conduct client presentations, online meetings, and attend trade shows to engage with current and prospective customers.

Customer Experience and Sales Process:

Ensure a high-quality customer experience by managing sales transactions effectively and following through on project deliverables.

Meet activity targets and accurately log activities in iConnect.

Strategy and Market Growth:

Develop and implement strategies to capture market share and drive growth in the sustainability sector across North America, in collaboration with sales leaders.

Expand Intertek's client base by enhancing existing customer relationships and generating new business opportunities.

Collaboration and Internal Coordination:

Build and maintain relationships with internal teams, providing education on sustainability services such as LCA, GHG, and ESG solutions.

Work with colleagues across Intertek North America to develop plans for introducing these sustainability services to their clients.

Compliance and Professionalism:

Adhere to The Company's Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies and Procedures, Quality Management System, Compliance and Ethics Policies, Vision, Mission, and Strategy.

Exercise good judgment, common sense, and diplomacy in all responsibilities.

Perform other duties as required to support the business objectives and growth initiatives within the sustainability services sector across North America.
