Elections Analyst - Companion Position

ABOUT THE POSITION

The County of Riverside's Registrar of Voters is seeking an Elections Analyst to support the Voter Services team in Riverside.

At this time, the position has the opportunity for a hybrid telework schedule based on business need, however job expectations, at times may require in person interaction.

Telework may change at any time and you will be expected to report to the office.

The incumbent will be required to work in the office full time during elections due to the volume of work.
This position is currently a full-time companion position with benefits.

It is expected that this position will become a full-time regular position in the near future.

This companion position has been opened to allow proper training time before the current Elections Analyst vacates the position.

PLEASE NOTE: Incumbents must be available to work weekends and holidays, including mandatory overtime.

The Elections Analyst will be responsible for ballot creation and formatting, ballot counting, and election results.

Additionally, they will be tasked with maintaining voter lists, which includes managing the voter registration database, entering and exiting registered voters from the County of Riverside, analyzing voter and election data, and developing drawings, graphs, and forms related to data and the election process.

The incumbent will provide guidance and training for temporary and department staff in election activities.

Travel to offsite locations is required as needed.

Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required.

The most competitive candidates will possess experience with the county's election policies and procedures, including the creation and formatting of ballots.

Additionally, they should have experience in maintaining and reviewing large datasets containing election and voter information.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Program, troubleshoot and manage two electronic ballot-counting systems.

• Work directly with the Secretary of State to coordinate the manufacture and release of ballots, scheduling of testing and certification of systems tests for all Federal and State elections.

• Produce sample and official ballots in compliance with a variety of regulations, codes and laws specific to the offices, special districts and jurisdictions scheduled for elections.

• Submit and coordinate ballot plates for sample and official ballot printing by the Certified State Printer; Supervise the making and testing of all official ballots for Federal, State and locally scheduled elections for Logic and A...
