Position Purpose:

Under the leadership of the department director this position coordinates the provision, evaluation, and implementation of medical nutrition therapy and ensures that clinical nutritional services is in compliance with all regulatory agency standards.
This position also monitors clinical standards of care so that they meet or exceed regulatory and budget requirements, as well as customer/patient expectations.

Team Leader Responsibilities:
· Promotes the provision, evaluation, and implementation of medical nutrition therapy and clinical nutritional services in compliance with all regulatory agency standards in accordance with evidenced based nutrition intervention and standards of care.
· Ensures excellent patient service processes are followed.
Ensures dietitians understand the reasons for making patient satisfaction a high priority.
· Coordinates scheduling and staffing of the dietitian team.
· Monitors and assists with evaluating clinical dietitian work activities for clinical and patient related functions.
· Monitors the documentation of nutritional interventions so that they meet or exceed regulatory requirements.
· Works in conjunction with the dietitian team to ensure customer/patient expectations are exceeded within budgetary parameters.
· Works with the dietitian team as a resource for departmental nutrition education in order to ensure that annual competencies are maintained.
· Works cooperatively with Nutrition Services leadership team on projects involving patient food and nutrition.
· Trains staff on computer processes/systems, EMR, etc.
· Serves or delegates membership on interdisciplinary committees.
· Develops, monitors, and records performance improvement activities.
· Collaborates with dietitian team to update clinical policies when changes are required or updates implemented.
· Takes an active role in achieving patient satisfaction goals by conducting meal rounds and test trays as scheduled and reports findings to Nutrition Services leadership team.
· Responds to requests courteously and in a timely manner.
· Participates in providing education and outreach to various community events.
· Ensures clinical dietitian team is using current approved nutrition standards of care and all documentation meets regulatory and policy requirements.
