INVISTA in Longview, TX is currently seeking a motivated and self-driven Mechanical Engineer with an interest in the application of the latest engineering technology and leading industry trends.

This role will influence and drive the equipment health and overall Site/Business competitiveness.

Our Team

The Mechanical Engineering team is responsible for the support and ownership of site-wide mechanical integrity efforts and reliability through the application of technology.

This position will report to our Reliability Manager and be with substantial engagement with IT/OT, Operations Excellence and Projects

What You Will Do



* Design/implement mechanical engineering projects to address plant needs.


* Lead root cause failure analysis related to equipment and be part of the team that implements the latest cutting-edge corrective actions.


* Support maintenance and operations in the repair and selection of plant rotating equipment by researching, specifying, and designing.


* Provide technical recommendations through the collection and analysis of data/trends on various types of rotating equipment.


* Partner with Operations and Maintenance to develop new reliability tools while building new capabilities in the organization.


* Problem solve and troubleshoot issues while using transformative and innovative approaches to drive reliability initiatives and engineering solutions.


* Support site transformation efforts to move to predictive analytics on rotating equipment.


* Develop tools that convert data to information that drives decision making.


* Support Sustainability Improvements Efforts on site rotating equipment population.


* Support initiatives at other INVISTA sites in Texas through a Community of Practice.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)



* Bachelor's degree, or higher, in an engineering discipline


* 5+ Years experience in a technical mechanical role

What Will Put You Ahead



* 10+ years' experience in mechanical engineering


* Knowledge of compliance and engineering standards (ASME, API, ANSI, ISO, OSHA, and other RAGAGEP)


* Experience with engineering software, data analytics, and emerging technologies


* Experience applying statistical tools and performing reliability modeling


* Experience reviewing quality of project deliverables and resolving technical issues that arise on projects
