What does a Respiratory Therapist do?

The primary purpose of your job position is to perform respiratory/pulmonary therapy, management,
rehabilitation, diagnostic evaluation, and direct care to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities, which
effect on the pulmonary system

Essential Duties:


* Receive and follow schedule/instructions from your supervisor as outlined in our established


* policies and procedures.


* Adheres to established policies and procedures of the facility to which the respiratory care practitioner is assigned.


* Performs focused interviews to identify specific patients' needs.


* Assess signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient's condition.


* Collects, analyzes, and interprets data and information from healthcare members and documents actual and/or potential diagnoses.

* In services, the nurse is primarily responsible for the patient, and the physician, as needed, and before leaving the facility departments within the facility.

Requirements:


* Plans for outcomes of care for those patients assigned.


* Performs interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, and the hospital policies and


* Adheres to emergency, safety and infection control procedures of the facility to which the respiratory


* Promotes and participates in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications.


* Reports changes in the patient's respiratory status to the Director/Supervisor of Respiratory Care


* Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel, as well as other


* Agree not to disclose resident's protected health information and promptly report suspected or known


* Assume the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability of performing the assigned duties


* Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information, including protected health information.


* Must possess an active CRT or RRT credential.


* Must possess, as a minimum, an Associate Degree from an


* accredited school.


* Must be a Graduate of a respiratory care program.


* Bachelor of Science degree in the health care field preferred.
