Survey Division Internship

ABOUT THE POSITION
TLMA Transportation has a paid internship opportunity to join their Survey Division.

The intern will work in-office on Capitol improvement projects, CADD drafting, research, and records management.

They will also have the opportunity to work in the field assisting a survey crew with construction staking, preliminary surveys, topographic surveys and research.

Through this internship, the successful candidate will gain experience in CADD drafting, GIS map creation, utilizing ArcPRO, ArcGIS and ArcGIS Online, Microstation and InRoads, land records research, field surveying, leveling, GPS and construction staking, as well as budgeting, notetaking, project tracking and independent decision making.

The student internship position is based in Riverside and offers a flexible work week consisting of approximately 10-15 hours per week with flexibility granted around academic obligations.

The selected candidate can anticipate the internship to span up to one year in length.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Under supervision, assists and participates in the work performed by employees of a specific profession; through participation, receives supervised work experience in a specific professional vocation; and performs other related duties as required.

The intern's responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:


* Assisting on Capitol improvement projects


* CADD drafting


* Creating GIS maps


* Conducting research


* Managing office records


* Supporting a survey crew with construction staking, preliminary and topographic surveys


* Assisting with budgeting, notetaking and project tracking


* Interacting with constituents in a professional manner

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average : 2.5 GPA required.

Proof of most current unofficial/official transcript with cumulative GPA must be provided at time of application .

Education: Applicants must be currently enrolled/attending school at an accredited college or university in a Bachelor's, or preparing to transfer to a Bachelor's program, during the entire duration of the internship.

R ecent college graduates are eligible to intern for up to one year (twelve months) from their graduation date.

Graduation date is not to exceed a twelve month maximum during the duration of the internship.

Areas of Study :Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geomatics Engineering, Geospatial or similar.

Minimum Qualifications:


* Experience or coursework in land surveying


* Experience with CADD drafting
