Registered Nurse I-II - Public Health Children's Medical Services.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The County of Riverside - Riverside University Health System- Public Health is currently recruiting for Full - Time Registered Nurse I/II for our Children's Medical Services department located in Riverside .

This position will be required to drive for home visits and health fairs.

A California Driver License is required.

Incumbents in this position will be responsible for the following:

* State meetings and trainings

Work Schedule : 9/80; Monday-Thursday 7:30am - 5:00pm, Friday -8:00am-5:00pm with every other Friday off.

Certificate:


* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.


* A current valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.


* Public Health Nurse certificate.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Under supervision, use the full scope of the Nurse Practice Act to assess, plan, organize, and provide nursing care to assigned patients in accordance with physician instructions; make preliminary observations of, and prepare patients for, medical treatment.

• Assist physicians in administering treatments and in performing medical examinations, diagnostic tests, and surgical operations.

• As directed, administer or dispense prescribed treatment and medications to patients; chart treatment and dispensing to patients, and record and report significant changes in condition and general progress of patient.

• Counsel and advise patients, families and significant others regarding special medical problems and/or proper healthcare methods; prepare and maintain concise and complete records and reports.

• Instruct patients in carrying out physician's orders; may transcribe physician's orders to working records.

• May participate in quality assurance reviews; may act as a team leader.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Registered Nurse I ($38.0499 - $41.9945)
Experience: None required.

Knowledge of: The theory, techniques, and practices of professional nursing; common medical terminology; hospital and/or healthcare procedures and equipment; the purposes and effects of medicine and narcotics.

Ability to: Skillfully perform the full range of nursing duties and responsibilities; follow oral and written procedures; maintain concise and complete records and reports; plan and organize nursing plans; establish and maintain effective relationships with physicians, patients, and co-workers.

Registered Nurse II ($41.2180-$49.3024/hr)
Education: Successful completion of the education required to obtain a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
