EHS Plant Supervisor

Location: Janesville, WI

How You Will Make an Impact?

The Plant EHS Supervisor will support a Morgan Truck Body plant to ensure safe working conditions for all team members.

The position is responsible for engaging on all plant level EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety) activities including coordination of coverage for EHS leads or coordinators in addition to overseeing the plant Safety Committee.

The Plant EHS Supervisor will be empowered to eliminate accidents, injuries, and property loss through effective problem solving and management of countermeasures because of near miss or incident investigations.

This role will continuously communicate a positive message and a course of action to be taken among the production space through BBSO and GEMBA process along with all other methods of engagement.

The Nuts and Bolts


* Support local health and safety processes within plant, including JHA, PPE and assessments, behavioral based safety observations and ergonomics.


* Oversees and directs shift safety coordinators, ERT/First Responder Team, Haz Response Teams, and Safety Committee.


* Support local regulatory compliance to include, but not limited to: SWPPP, SPCC, EPCRA, and RCRA.


* Maintain policy and standards and ensure all team members are appropriately informed


* Support the preparation of recommendations for corrective actions to eliminate or minimize potential or existing risks and hazards


* Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of hazard management systems, policies, and procedures with recommended changes that reflect opportunities to eliminate workplace injuries


* Support the site in investigating, analyzing and reviewing near-misses and accidents to ensure proper corrective and preventative measures have been implemented


* Support site in the review of injury and property damage reports, and in compliance of worker's compensation regulations


* Compile, analyze, and communicate metrics and KPIs via monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting


* Develop education and training classes.

Introduce and support EHS site in the delivery of new topics and refresher classes


* Conduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices


* Study ergonomic issues and recommend corrective actions


* Other duties as assigned

Required Credentials


* Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in Occupational Safety and Health or Environmental work or current enrollment in such program


* 3-5 years of hands-on professional health, safety, and environmental experience in manufacturing environment


* Certification/Licensure(s) - OSHA 511 or OSHA 501 Outreach Trainer may be substituted for degree qualification if courses are completed within the last 3 years.


* Working knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations at local, state, and federal levels
