JOB DESCRIPTION:

Performs intermediate technical work enforcing City zoning ordinances and various nuisance and building codes, receiving, and investigating complaints, inspecting properties, maintaining files and records, preparing reports, and related work as apparent or assigned, with an emphasis on Short-Term Vacation Rental enforcement, permitting, and inspections.

Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Planning Division Manager and direction of the Code Enforcement Officer, Sr.

The ideal candidate has strong communication skills both in oral and written form, and have the ability to communicate complex ideas.

They will work cooperatively and effectively as a team contributor, having strong attention to detail and excellent customer service skills.

Will have the ability to receive the public in person and over the phone using tact and diplomacy.

They will have experience with enforcement, permitting, and inspections of Short-Term Vacation Rentals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or GED and considerable experience in customer service, interpreting municipal codes and zoning enforcement principles, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Possession of the Code Enforcement Officer Level I certification issued by the Code Enforcement League of Arizona (CELA) is preferred.

Valid Arizona Driver's License of appropriate class.
