What's the role? ( Second shift is 2:30PM- 11:00PM)

2nd Shift CNC Machinist to grow our machine shop into a self-sufficient parts center.

Someone who cannot only operate Swiss lathes and CNC machine, but also ensure output accuracy, identify areas for process improvement, and develop relationships with peer groups that foster unity of purpose and valuing quality, safety, and collaboration.

Here's what you'll do:

Setup and operate Citizen and Tsugami Swiss lathes and CNC Mill machines; utilize machines to craft medical instruments of the highest quality

Plan proper task sequences from blueprints, written, or verbal instructions

Monitor production and check the output accuracy of parts, adjusting the feeds and settings as needed

Identify and implement and/or learn new techniques and skills that enhance the manufacturing of surgical instruments

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

A minimum of 2 years' manufacturing experience in a shop environment while operating CNC machines; Experience operating Swiss lathes is a plus

The ability to read and interpret blueprints, written, and verbal instructions/requirements

Experience checking output accuracy of parts coming off the machines

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Ability to write simple correspondence.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
