Georgia-Pacific is searching for a Manufacturing Engineer/Asset Manager for the converting operation at the Packerland facility.

The Packerland facility produces napkin and facial tissue products for restaurants, hotels, and other business, as well as paper for the food service industry.

The Manufacturing Engineer will have broad responsibility for safety, environmental compliance, reliability, cost, productivity and managing within an ownership-based work system of technicians.

In this role, every day is different.

Georgia-Pacific Green Bay Packerland is a close-knit group of about 150 employees that work together as one team to deliver superior results.

Several manufacturing engineers help lead the development of strategic plans and the execution asset strategies for the facility.

The manufacturing engineers are supported by personnel, safety, environmental, quality, learning & development, and maintenance & reliability professionals.

What You Will Do



* Provide strategic and tactical leadership in the areas of EHS, compliance, asset reliability, cost optimization, quality, productivity, waste, and strategic capital planning and execution with the operating team and department


* Facilitate ownership-based work system strategies by building capability of technicians to operate, maintain and improve their assets


* Develop and execute reliability and asset strategies including time based, condition based, operating envelope, and spare parts for responsible equipment.


* Working with suppliers and customers to provide products that meets the required customer specifications


* Coach and develop a team that is focused on supporting and holding each other to world class facility standards


* Collaborate with subject matter experts within and outside the facility to optimize the process relative to throughput, quality and cost.


* Understand and communicate current capability of assets and coordinating new opportunities with the Business, Operations, and Supply Chain organizations

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)



* Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering OR in lieu of a degree, converting manufacturing experience


* Experience working with individuals of all different levels from technicians to management


* Experience identifying and addressing losses (asset, people, or waste) within a process


* Experience troubleshooting mechanical or electrical systems in a manufacturing environment

* Experience working in paper converting


* Equipment and/or manufacturing systems reliability experience


* Experience executing Lean or Continuous Improvement projects


* Previous leadership experience supervising or motivating people or teams
