Job Summary:

Supermicro Computer's Hardware Designing team is looking for an experienced Staff Hardware Design Engineer with extensive board design knowledge to be involved in the design and development of motherboards - which is the core component of our server products.

Through closely collaborating, our Hardware Design Engineer will work with cross-functional teams to design high performance and cutting edge motherboards, which build upon the fundamental of our data center products.

In addition, the Hardware Design Engineer will provide strong leadership and mentorship to ensure the team will shine under his/her leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):
• Collaborate with Product Manager to optimize product specification, analysis technical and feasibly
• Responsible for schematics capture, layout checking, BOM generating, and debugging and testing of server motherboards / add-on cards / backplane products
• Collaborate with layout engineers, validation engineers, software engineers, firmware engineers, product engineers and other teams to discover and solve any engineering issues in early stage to ensure and enhance the quality of the products
• Prepare technical documentation including product specifications, layout instructions, test procedures, etc.
• Accomplish the products to conform to engineering specifications, EMC and energy regulations, and customer performance expectations
• Provide the clear documents and strong technical supports to the contract manufacturers and production department during the product sample and production stages
• Support Technical Support Team and Field Application Engineer for ensure quality for entire product life cycle

Qualifications:



* Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering preferred and Master's degree is strongly desirable


* Minimum 12 yearof experience working with PCB design or layout experience is a plus


* In-depth knowledge of circuit design (digital, analog, power) and PCB layout


* Hand-on experience on lab oscilloscopes and debugging skills


* Strong communication, written, oral, and interpersonal skills


* Prior experiences on PCB design in enterprise networking servers is a plus


* Must have the ability to work well with cross functional team effectively
