POST Long Island Occupational Therapist

Liberty POST is currently seeking a motivated and energetic Early Childhood Occupational Therapists for part time and/or full time employment to work with children who are birth-5 years old through Early Intervention and Preschool Special Education programs.

Immediate positions are available throughout Long Island.

and part of a large social services circle, originally POST was a speech-language practice in Syracuse NY, and has grown to provide a range of services throughout all of New York State and New Jersey.

We employ over 500 professionals in a variety of settings and offer a collaborative team approach to provide evaluation, direct therapy, and family education through child-directed play.

We are focused on the importance of a child’s natural learning environment, a family’s unique strengths and needs and the diverse population we serve.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:  


* Evaluate, monitor and track child’s progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.


* Conduct Occupational Therapy sessions for children with various diagnoses (ex: ASD, sensory issues, fine motor delay, etc.).


* Conduct Occupational Therapy evaluations.


* Provide center-based and home care services.


* Skilled in supporting children in school and at home.


* Test and evaluate child’s abilities to determine realistic goals.


* Record information on the initial evaluation, treatment, and progress in a timely manner using Electronic Medical Record system.


* Proficient at writing detailed analysis and reports.


* Effectively organize and maintain confidentially of child’s records and other documentations.


* Follow all state laws and regulations as it pertains to Early Intervention, CPSE/CSE special education.

 

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:


* Licensed Occupational Therapist in the State of New York required.


* Knowledge of New York State laws/regulations in regard to Occupational
Therapy.


* Minimum of two years of experience working with children in therapy and conducting evaluations preferred.


* Experience in sensory integration preferred.


* Knowledge of MS Word and comfortable with working with computers and databases.


* A valid driver's license and proof of car insurance.


* Great interpersonal and communication skills.


* Full time position in the office located in Deer Park


* Varied caseload of children ages birth through 10.

Primarily through Early Intervention, CPSE and insurance.
