Database Engineer

Picis Clinical Solutions, a Harris Computer company, is recruiting a Database Engineer on a permanent basis to join our dynamic team of smart, positive, and passionate people in Spain who are appreciated for their unique talents and empowered to do their jobs well.

The position can be performed remotely in Spain and we also have an office in Barcelona.

In performing the Database Engineer position, as part of the Research and Development team, your core duties and responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):



* Working closely with development teams with regards to database updates and design


* Optimizing queries 


* Testing the database to ensure everything operates efficiently without error 


* Analyzing and recommending database Improvements


* Analyzing the impact of database changes to the business


* Analysing requirements and understanding of company’s data needs 


* Troubleshooting database errors


* Extracting live data, datamining


* Overseeing the development of new databases


* Installing database software and maintain database


* Guaranteeing database setup meets industry requirements


* Reviewing existing solutions


* Setting security permissions for database


* Backing up and restore data

What we are seeking:



* A thorough knowledge of SQL and an understanding of SQL Server


* Bachelors’ degree preferred or combination of education and experience in an industry related field


* Related database engineering experience


* A high level of proficiency in technical programming language


* Ability to analyse and summarize highly technical information


* Ability to apply state of the art technology solutions to database engineering problems


* Understands how to develop within an Agile Development environment


* Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to delivery excellent customer service to all stakeholders


* Results driven professional with the ability to work well and deliver under pressure in a fast paced environment


* Customer oriented; delivers on-time, superior solutions that exceed customer expectations


* Adaptable and responsive to innovation and change with a demonstrable desire for continuous learning of current and leading edge technologies
