Transportation Construction Observer

Where would you step in? 
As a valuable member of our Transportation team, you will observe the construction phase of a transportation project located in Connecticut to verify compliance with project plans and contracts.

You will work out of our Shelton, Connecticut or Middletown, Connecticut offices when not out on the project site.

What will you be doing? 
You will be observing work being performed by the contractor to confirm general conformance with the contract documents as well as reviewing shop drawings, submittals, and payment applications; general construction administration and coordination is also expected.

You will also complete a daily log of work activities and coordinate with client representatives, utility companies, state agencies, and adjacent landowners to update progress and minimize disruption to existing infrastructure.

What do you need? 
You will need a BS degree in Engineering or Construction Management or NICET Level II Certification along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering or a related field and a minimum of 2 years of experience in field inspection.

Having experience with the CTDOT 4 Book System, surveying, design, or municipal work is a plus.
