IT/OT System Administrator

Your Job

Guardian is one of the largest glass producers and innovators in the world.

All UK manufacturing is based at the plant in Goole, East Yorkshire.

We have recently made significant investment in a new furnace that uses advanced technology and will secure glass manufacture at the site for the next 20 years .

We are looking for an IT / OT System administrator to join our team in Goole.

What You Will Do



* Have t raditional IT systems knowledge, mostly Process Network oriented (process network and security infrastructure, plant operational printers, anti- virus and patching, wired and wireless networks etc.)


* Manage IT/technology related project deployments in the plant.


* Monitor c ybersecurity.


* Work within different teams such as engineering and global IT/OT teams


* Propose new solutions based on the local experience, for future enhancements.


* Test, monitor and troubleshoot abilities.


* Manage l ocal vendor relationship s


* Provide p hysical assistance for preventive and reactive maintenance


* Be able to proceed to change any of those during:



* - Failures


* - Preventive/Predictive maintenance windows


* - Planned technology changes

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

Working knowledge of current network communications devices and protocols as well as server and desktop technologies , especially Windows Server.

Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously.

Previous work experience following change management procedures and maintaining a highly available infrastructure.

What Will Put You Ahead


* Bachelor's Degree in IT


* Experience in the administration of a network of servers, desktop systems and communication devices.


* Desirable basic knowledge of ICS elements.


* HMI , data collectors, Historian, SCADAS


* Industrial communication protocols: OPC/ modbus /PROFINET


* PLCs.


* Working knowledge of Cisco and VMware
