About the Position:
* Responsible for inspecting, cleaning, prepping, and testing new cat machines for delivery to the customer.
* Assembling, installing, and testing various cat and allied attachments.
* Responsible for incoming and outgoing inspections on our heavy rents fleet.
* Servicing the equipment at the necessary intervals, as well as minor troubleshooting and repairs.
* Work closely with the shop supervisor, sales department, yard attendant, and rental coordinators to effectively manage the influx of new cat equipment and to manage the availability status of our rental equipment.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Assisting other heavy equipment technicians in various repairs when necessary.
* Steam cleaning various machines.
* Assisting in shop cleanup activities and trash removal
Qualifications & Experience Needed:
* A high school diploma or equivalent or a graduate of a 2-4 year vocational technical school training institution or equivalent experience is required.
* A valid driver's license is vital as it will be used for potential forklift driving and operation of equipment such as hydraulic and mechanical presses, hoists, cranes, pressure washers, and more.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Products and Outlook.
* This role requires the ability to stand up to eight hours per day and includes twisting, bending, squatting, sitting stooping and kneeling.
* Flexibility to travel for extended periods of time to work with our customers will be required.
* Experience working at a Caterpillar (CAT) dealership or with CAT products is ideal.
