Nemours is seeking an ED Tech to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Wilmington, DE.
This position is responsible for: Assisting with general activities of the Emergency Department and assist the health care team with performance of patient care activities, under the direction and guidance of a Registered Nurse.
The position is 36 hours weekly 745P-815A.
Every third weekend; 2 holiday requirements a year, one summer holiday and one winter holiday.
As a tech in the ED you will respond to some non-patient emergencies throughout the campus.
Position Responsibilities
* Additional miscellaneous duties and responsibilities, as may be assigned from time to time by employee's supervisor.
* Continually assess patients according to the pediatric assessment triangle (Note and changes in condition & recognize any immediate life threats.
* Assist Rapid Assessment nurse with Rapidly Assessing new patients.
(Vital Signs Clean and dress wounds, POCT, Assist Rapid assessment nurse in giving medications or any interventions.
* Vehicle extraction of injured patients (Patients arriving to ED via private auto needing assistance out of vehicle): Maintain C-spine, stabilize broken bones with splinting and remove from car.
* Room patients in Emergency Department according to acuity and discretion of areas available after discussion with Flow Supervisor.
* Report and document all changes and complications in flow to Supervisor.
* After rooming patients' initial assessments for need of specific monitoring.
(Cardiac Monitors and/or Pulse Oximetry)
* Document all intake and output.
* Maintain level of communication with RN for VS out of normal limits, or any changes in patient's status.
* Maintain accurate vitals based on patients' acuity/severity (Q15, Q30, Q45, Q1hr, Q2hr, Q4hr)
* Assist healthcare team with holding for procedures such as Lumbar Puncture, IV catheter insertion, Laceration Repairs, Suctioning, Urinary Catheterization, POCT, other items as necessary.
* Perform EKG's, Nasal Washes, Flu Testing, Visual Acuity, Phlebotomy, including Stat Phlebotomy lab testing: bilirubin test, newborn screen test (for outpatients during weekend hours)
* Perform POCT for assigned patients: Urinalysis, Rapid Strep Test, Gastro/Hemoccult, HCG test, Glucose Test.
* Transport patients to the Inpatient units, radiology, MRI, Operating Room, ECG, Ultrasound, PICU, NICU, and multiple clinics.
(Monitor patients on oxygen and pulse ox monitors/cardiac monitors during transports)
* Respond to "Stat Responses" in Emergency Department.
* Initiate and continue CPR for patients in Cardiac Arrest.
* Respond to all "Code Blues" on the first and ground floor with stretcher, EMS bag, AED and are prepared to begin resuscitation on scene.

Nemours is seeking a Registered Nurse for our general pediatrics stepdown unit to join our team in Wilmington, Delaware.
This position is PART-TIME, 48 hours biweekly, rotating or nightshifts, with every third weekend and holiday rotation.
3 East is a surgical intermediate unit with a high population of patients requiring post-operative care for urological issues, traumatic injuries, and general surgery.
3 East also cares for patients with acute and end stage renal disease and patients requiring an intermediate level of nursing care due to their tracheostomy and/or ventilator needs.
Each patient room is equipped with oxygen, compressed air, and suction along with state-of-the-art cardiorespiratory bedside monitors and computers that enable the healthcare team to access a patient's electronic medical record.
The patient care complexity directly relates to the wide range of patient care skills required for this diverse patient population.
The goal of this unit is to provide high-quality, cost-effective patient care.
The Synergy model is used in making appropriate patient assignments based on patient and family needs and nursing skill set.
Special equipment used on this unit includes infusion pumps, syringe pumps, feeding pumps, BiPap respirators, Oxygen delivery methods, PCA & epidural pumps, wound vacutainers, ventilators and specialty beds.
Nursing competencies include: chest tube management, pain management, blood product administration, urinary catheterization, tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and central line care and management.
Qualifications:

* BSN preferred; if have associate's degree must receive BSN within three years
* Pediatric experience preferred
* At least 6 months of nursing experience required

The Shift Supervisor has responsibility for leading, planning, organizing and evaluating the timely, effective and efficient delivery of the department's operations on a shift by shift basis.
Through the incorporation of the Hospital's goals and objectives and nurse professional practice, this position is responsible for ensuring that the department performs to the highest possible standard within the resources made available, thus ensuring the delivery of quality care and service to patients, staff and visitors.
The Shift Supervisor is accountable to the Clinical Director.
The Shift Supervisor acts as a role model, has accountability for the patient flow initiatives, fosters teamwork within and between areas of responsibility and ensures the consistent application of the Hospital's policies and procedure.
The Shift Supervisor is also responsible for promoting specialized knowledge and skills through the support of staff education and professional development.
Primary Duties:
* Provides leadership and direction to the staff in assigned clinical area(s).

The Community Support Coordinator drives the 40-foot Mobile Clinic to and from designated areas, sets up the clinic for service, maintains the unit, provides patient intake/registration, and serves as a support liaison to the community.
