Some of the responsibilities of the Staff Development Coordinator include:
* Designs, plans and provides education programs on all shifts and for all departments.
* Participates in the staff evaluation process by providing attendance records and observation of employees performance.
* Provides general facility orientation to all new employees and ongoing in-service education.
* Plans and provides a monthly and annual schedule of planned education programs.
* Creates lesson plans containing objectives, course content, method of instruction and method of evaluation.
* Ensures Certified Nursing Assistants meet the annual 12 hour inservice requirement.
Education and/or Experience for Staff Development Coordinator:
* Registered nurse, RN with management or supervisor experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
* Current state license to practice as a nurse, RN.
* Current CPR certification
* Additional certification in nursing specialty desired.
