Primary Purpose of the Role
The Senior Accountant is responsible for complex journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end financial reports.
This role is also responsible for supporting all month-end close tasks, the annual budget process, and the external audit.
In addition, the Senior Accountant is considered a super-user of one or more of the critical financial systems.
Essential Job Duties
* Owner of the financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting system (Vena)
* Owner of the general ledger portion of the ERP system
* Prepare complex month-end journal entries, maintaining detailed electronic support
* Prepare month-end balance sheet reconciliations for various complex accounts, including complete electronic support, researching and resolving reconciling items in a timely manner
* Review month-end balance sheet reconciliations for various accounts to ensure completeness and accuracy
* Assist in the annual budget process
* Support the external audit requests for assigned accounts or processes using prescribed submission tools and per published deadlines
* Owner of one or more of the Corporate Accounting sub-systems (Sage FAS for fixed assets; Vena for financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting)
* Owner of the general ledger portion of the ERP system
* Other duties, tasks and projects as assigned
Required Skills and Abilities
* Experience with a CPM system preferred
* Experience with integrated ERP system(s
* Strong systems acumen
* Strong Excel computer skills
* Ability to execute with precision
* Desire to question and streamline current processes and procedures
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and complete assigned tasks timely
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company's success

Working with a team of Architectural Historians, archaeologists, biologists, and permitters, this hire will lead projects that require historic structures field survey work and office-based activities.
