Riverside University Health System is currently seeking Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) to join the teams at both the main Medical Center and the Outpatient Medical-Surgical Center in Moreno Valley, CA.
The current openings are Per-Diem with the potential for full-time hours/more flexible scheduling, and have a 5/40 schedule, with rotating weekends and holidays.
The Speech-Language Pathologist - Per Diem is responsible for providing speech-language pathology treatments to care for patient disabilities, injuries, and diseases through functional activity training such as exercises for cognition, dysphasia, speech, and language disorders.
Per Diem personnel are distinguished from regular employees in that they receive additional compensation in lieu of County fringe benefits and work assignments may be on a flexible work hour schedule.• Assess the functional status of the patient through the use of objective evaluation techniques, based on standardized assessments for adult and pediatric dysphasia, cognition and speech and language.
• Establish short and long term treatment goals in conjunction with the patient and the physician.
• Administer active, passive, and resistive therapeutic exercises in order to improve coordination and mobility for swallowing and speech.
• Educate patients, families and caregivers regarding home exercise programs and safety with functional activities.
• Provide assessment, instruction and application of prosthetics for laryngectomee patients.
• Educate patients in proper techniques for swallowing and aspiration precautions.
• Recommend use of appropriate and suitable assistive devices for communication.
• Observe patients' response and progress in treatment while reassessing goals.
• Complete appropriate daily documentation in the medical record regarding patients' response to treatment and progress.
• Complete Medicare, Medi-Cal, and managed care documentation for treatment authorizations.
• Provide oversight of daily speech-language pathology treatment schedule.
• Participate in interdisciplinary conferences.
• Participate in the creation of new assessment forms on speech-related topics.
• Assist in writing speech-related policies and procedures and in maintaining the environment of care.
• Provide in-service education to nursing and medical staff on speech-related topics.
• Deliver in-service education to department staff on various therapy-related topics.
• Participate in the development and implementation of the interdisciplinary treatment planning.
• Maintain age-specific competencies of populations ranging in age from neonate through geriatric.

The County of Riverside - Riverside University Health System (RUHS) - Medical Center, located in Moreno Valley, is currently recruiting Registered Nurses for the Emergency Department (ED).
The ideal candidate will have at least one year of Emergency Department experience working in an acute care setting.
Certificates required:
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association
* Pediatric Advances Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association
* NIHSS (Stroke) Certification
* Trauma Nursing Core Course Certification, (TNCC), or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses, (ATCN), certification.
The Emergency Department is a large unit comprised of 40 treatment areas.
There are six (6) acute trauma beds, three (3) acute cardiac beds and six (6) other specially monitored beds for acute patients.
The 25 general exam rooms include a decontamination room, security rooms, an ENT, cast room, and forensic exam room.
The ED is staffed with attending physicians and resident physicians 24 hours a day.
Work Schedule:
* 3/12s, night shift, 1900 - 0730
Additional Differentials:
* Evening Shift (6:00pm to 11:00pm): $2.50 per hour
* Night Shift (11:00pm to 7:30am): $5.00 per hour
* ED Critical Care: 0-3 years experience $4.00 per hour, 4-6 years experience $5.50 per hour, 7 + years experience $7.00 per hour
