Nemours Children's Health is seeking a Chief of Pediatric Urology to lead our team in Jacksonville, Florida.
In addition to pursuing one's specific clinical interests, the Chief of Pediatric Urology will lead the strategic growth and advancement of clinical excellence and academic pursuits of Nemours Children's Health, Jacksonville and oversee the inpatient work at Wolfson Children's Hospital.
The Chief will lead a well-established and clinically busy practice as well as partner with Mayo Clinic and University of Florida to work with their rotating Urology Residents.
The Division of Urology provides care for a catchment area of more than 2 million people.
The program offers all aspects of pediatric Urology along with the opportunity for an energetic and innovative leader to lead the expansion of Nemours Urology to meet the needs of this growing region.
A fully functional APP staffed continence clinic is overseen by the Chief of Urology.
This accomplished leader will assume responsibility for the strategic, operational, and administrative functions for the Division of Pediatric Urology, which includes 2 full-time Pediatric Urologists, 3 dedicated APPs, 3 APPs supporting the continence clinic, with additional part-time support from 2 Pediatric Urologists also serving as physician leaders with Nemours in Jacksonville.
The Chief will report directly to the Chair of the Department of Surgery at NCH, Jacksonville.
In addition to our support staff, our robust division is equipped with the necessary tools for advancing the next generation of Pediatric Urology, including a DaVinci robot dedicated to the Children's Hospital.

* Guide torch and rod along joint of work pieces to heat to brazing temperature, melt braze alloy, and bond work pieces together
* Clean joints of work pieces, as directed
* Examine parts and re-braze defective joints
* Connect hoses from torch to regulator valves
* Melt and separate brazed joints to remove and straighten damaged or misaligned components, using hand torch

Works with minimal supervision under Mammography Supervisor and Manager.
Performs breast ultrasound.
Assists Radiologist with fine needle aspiration, cyst aspiration, ultrasound biopsy, and needle localization, in accordance with ACR, MQSA, The Joint Commission, and departmental policies.

* Assists Radiologist with needle localization, ultrasound biopsy, fine needle aspiration, and cyst aspiration in accordance with ACR, MQSA and departmental policies, and when training and approved demonstration of correct competencies are complete.
* Assists patients in moving on and off the exam table.
Assures that patients are properly dressed and prepped for procedures.
* Cares for patients during procedures by assisting them to rest rooms, giving them blankets, etc.
* Obtains or reviews patient's medical history and physician orders prior to performing studies and notifies appropriate staff of inconsistencies.
Explains procedures to patient and completes comprehensive documentation.
* Produces quality exams that include accurate and supportive documentation.
* Communicates with the Radiologists on all ultrasound exams that require review.
* Prepares completed breast ultrasound and/or other studies for interpretation in a timely manner (takes exam to close status) including appropriately identified images and all associated forms.
* Able to perform and/or assist with Quality Assurance activities related to breast ultrasound.
* Reports changes in patient's condition to Lead Technologist and/or Radiologist for follow-up.
Assists with emergency medical treatment under physician direction.
* Assists with scheduling of patient exams.
* Attends regularly scheduled department meetings and in-services.
* Works closely with Lead Mammography Technologist to meet MQSA standards.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Completion of an ultrasound training program with ARDMS certification or registry eligible.
Licensure: Current RDMS (BR) registry required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider status as per American Heart Association standards required.
New hires or transfers have 6 months from job date to obtain RDMS (BR) certification.
