Job Summary:
Globalstar is looking for a Junior Satellite Engineer who will be located in Covington to serve as liaison between the satellite engineering team and the Network Operations Center.
Job Description:
* In-room liaison between SOCC and Satellite Engineering.
Concentrates on broad knowledge of satellite constellation.
* Coordinating SOCC training and documentation of basic Satellite Engineering principles, GB1 operations, GB2 operations, new constellation introduction, new constellation operations, and new SOCC software operations.Â

* None
Duties/Responsibilities:
* Capable of understanding bus subsystem designs for each Globalstar satellite bus
* Interfaces with satellite communications payloads
* Regularly interact with Satellite Engineering team with a goal of understanding all technical aspects of the spacecraft design, as it relates to successful satellite operations
* Work closely with operations teams to develop and ensure satellite capability to safely provide service
Required Skills/Abilities:
* Ability to understand our satellite operation, with a sufficiently broad or narrow view as necessary, to detect problems and act accordingly
* Self-motivated, driven person who can work with fellow members of the Satellite Engineering Team as well as with Network Operations Center (NOC) operators
* Strong team collaboration and communication skills
Education and Experience:
* BS in a STEM field and/or relevant experience in a Satellite Operations Control Center environment
* Ability to define and document solutions to complex problems and to convey solutions to senior management
* Ability to work with multiple engineering disciplines to identify technical product characteristics to develop requirements specifications
Physical Requirements:
* Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
* Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
