SUMMARY
Founded in 1992, Community Health Project Los Angeles (CHPLA)’s mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of people affected by substance use in Los Angeles, to increase access to health care, empower people to protect themselves, and educate each other to reduce harm in our communities.
CHPLA combines direct services, advocacy, outreach, education, and research collaborations to fulfill this mission..
Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD) is a community-based diversion approach with the goals of improving public safety, and reducing unnecessary justice system involvement of people who participate in the program.
In a LEAD program, law enforcement officers exercise discretionary authority at point of contact to divert individuals to a community-based, harm-reduction intervention for law violations driven by unmet behavioral health needs.
In lieu of the traditional criminal justice system cycle -- booking, detention, prosecution, conviction, incarceration -- individuals are instead referred into a trauma-informed, harm reduction intensive case-management program where the individual receives a wide range of support services.
Prosecutors and law enforcement work closely with case managers to ensure that all contacts with LEAD participants going forward, including new criminal prosecutions for other offenses, are coordinated with the service plan for the participant to maximize the opportunity to achieve behavioral change.
There are certain core principles to LEAD that are essential to achieve transformative outcomes.
These include LEAD’s harm reduction/Housing First framework, which requires a focus on individual and community wellness, rather than an exclusive focus on sobriety; and police officers and sergeants involvement as meaningful and positive meaningful partners in program design and operations.
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Clinical Supervisor is responsible for providing clinical supervision to CHPLA’s ICMS LEAD Program (Intensive Case Management Program, formally: Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion/ updated to: Let Everyone Advance with Dignity) that supports both staff and participants.
LEAD (Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion) is a collaborative project involving local police, prosecutors, public defenders, corrections officers and social service providers designed to divert individuals arrested or suspected of low-level drug offenses and/or prostitution into social services rather than the criminal justice system.
These individuals will be engaged in supportive services with the goal of reducing legal recidivism and improving quality of life.
This is a full-time benefitted position.
Employment is provided by Heluna Health.
The pay rate for this position is $93,000.00 annually.

* Respond to crisis situations and engage in field-based intervention to support case managers with high acuity clients and crises.

Warehouse
ABOUT LCI
The mission of LCI is to provide meaningful employment for the blind and visually impaired.
We accomplish this in four ways:
* EMPLOY: We are one of the largest employers of people who are blind, creating meaningful careers and lasting skills that transform their lives.
* BUILD: We create over 2,000 products and distribute thousands more through manufacturing, retail, nationwide distribution, and e-commerce channels.
* SERVE: Many of our products are sold directly to the federal government.
We were pioneers of “base supply centers,” stores on military bases that employ the blind and visually impaired and provide mission-critical supplies to our nation’s military.
* SUPPORT: We want to end blindness forever.
To that end, we engage in philanthropic efforts for research into blindness and treatment for the visually impaired.
ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Warehouse role is to assemble and deliver customer orders accurately and in a timely manner.
