Position Summary:
The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide rehabilitative services to residents, helping them regain independence in activities of daily living and functional mobility.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide direct patient care as outlined in the treatment plan developed by the Occupational Therapist
* Assist in the implementation of treatment goals and plans
* Monitor patient progress and report changes to the Occupational Therapist
* Accurately document treatments and patient responses using facility systems (e.g., Casamba, PointClickCare)
* Educate residents, families, and staff on therapy goals and home exercise programs
* Participate in team meetings, care planning, and discharge planning as needed
* Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations and policies
Qualifications:
* Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
* Current COTA license in good standing with the State of California
* Experience in a skilled nursing or post-acute care setting preferred
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Proficient in documentation software and electronic health records
