Primary Purpose The Finance Director position is responsible for maximizing the return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems.
This position ensures legal and regulatory compliance for all accounting and financial reporting functions.
The Finance Director also oversees cost and general accounting, accounts receivable/collection and an LLC.
Education and Experience Bachelors degree in accounting plus 3-5 years experience, or equivalent combination education and experience.
Requires knowledge of GAAP, business practices for non-profit corporations, experience with LLCs, extensive experience managing financial aspects of contracting, management of accounts receivable, and providing in-depth information and guidance to executive staff and board for directors.
Ability to facilitate annual budget review process and prepare and present monthly/quarterly financial reports.
Experience with commercial insurance billing and property management preferred.
Minimum Qualifications Provide proof of current, valid Oregon Drivers License (or if out-of-state will obtain Oregon license within 30 days), comprehensive automobile insurance (if applicable) and a safe driving record (minimum of 3 yrs.) to use company or personal vehicle for required duties.Successfully pass a Criminal Background Check and Medicaid Fraud Check.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Core Competencies Financial ManagementEnsure maintenance of accurate accounting records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.Document and track accounts receivable balances.Work closely with Access Department to ensure that billing functions are providing timely receipt of outstanding receivables.Oversee accounts payable.Prepare and present monthly financial statements with explanations of budget variance to the Executive Management, Fiscal Committee, and Board of Directors in a timely manner.Prepare costing analysis, budgetary projections and financial planning information for Executive staff and Board of Directors.Prepare and distribute related reports to regulatory entities.Prepare general ledger entries.Perform banking functions including bank deposits and monthly reconciliation.Develop, review and revise fiscal policies.Review financial processes and ensure internal controls are in place and sufficient.Prepare for and arrange the annual external audit while working closely with the external auditor to make necessary corrections and adjustments.Prepares financial reports and budgets for the Board of Directors and Administrators.Attend monthly Board of Directors Fiscal Committee meetings and Board Meetings.Review departmental financial statements and provide budgetary guidance to Managers as applicable.Work with operations managers to develop expectations as part of the budgetary process; reviewing assumptions for legitimacy.Prepare and present annual budgets and mid-year revised estimates.Implement controls related to bud...
