The Carol Jenkins Barnett Pavilion for Women and Children at Lakeland Regional Hospital in Lakeland, Florida offers comprehensive care for children from birth to adulthood in collaboration with Nemours Subspecialty Physicians.
The 12-bed PICU at Lakeland Regional Health has all private rooms with family friendly amenities.
It is supported by a robust pediatric emergency room, recent expansion of surgical services and the addition of a pediatric trauma service.
Responsibilities include designing clinical protocols, managing staffing and quality metrics, admitting patients from the Pediatric ED, rounding on patients in the PICU, consulting with the pediatric subspecialists, and promoting research and education for nurses, APPs, medical students and residents.
Shifts are in-house eight hours per day and on call from home within 30 minutes response the remainder of the shift.
Additionally, PICU APPs are in-house 12-hours overnight.
Nemours providers at Lakeland Regional Health have access to more than 13 pediatric subspecialties on site as well as remote access to all the Nemours pediatric subspecialists located in Orlando.
The Nemours Transport team provides critical care transport services to Nemours Children's Hospital, Florida for children requiring higher level care.
Qualifications

* 5+ years of clinical experience.

Nemours is seeking a Day Medicine Registered Nurse.
The Day Medicine Unit has 10 physical bays that can accommodate 10 patients at one time.
The Sedation Suite houses two anesthesia induction rooms, two sedation induction rooms and eight recovery bays.
We have just expanded to also have the PET/MR Suite which includes one anesthesia and one sedation induction room.
Hours of operation for Day Medicine are between 0600 and 1930, Monday through Friday.
After hours, weekend and holiday service for sedation is provided by a rotating call team of two Day Medicine registered nurses.
The registered nursing staff in Day Medicine cares for approximately 650 patients each month.
Day Medicine performs single or ongoing outpatient IV infusions for many medical conditions.
Day Medicine also services all of the needs for pre-sedation and anesthesia preparation, intra-procedural care and subsequent sedation / anesthesia recovery for all Medical Imaging diagnostic studies and interventional procedures as well as minor procedures occurring outside of the operating room, emergency room and intensive care environments.

This position provides clinical nutrition consultation in coordination with Physicians and other members of the multidisciplinary care team.
Coverage will be provided to the following: Med/Surg, Inpatient Rehab, and Short Stay
This position is responsible for the following:
* Functions as a nutrition consultant, completing nutrition consults and referrals from Nemours and community providers.
* Conducts nutrition assessment and intervention for Inpatients and Outpatients, as required by the specific position.
For inpatients, this includes those patients identified at high nutrition risk; completes re-screens for patients who are identified at moderate or low nutrition risk upon admission.
* Develops and implements nutritional care plans based on diet history, labs, medications, supplements, medical history, medical care plan, and expected growth and development appropriate for the patient's age, sex, cultural /ethnic background and disease specific requirements.
* Performs nutrition counseling for pediatric patients/caretakers regarding disease specific diets and /or formulas.
This requires knowledge of composition of infant, pediatric, and adult formulas, along with ability to calculate specialized formula recipes and meal plans.
* Documents nutritional assessments and recommendations via EPIC medical record documentation system.
* Actively participates in team rounds, as necessary.
* Provides recommendations for and prescribes enteral feeding and parenteral nutrition orders, as necessary.
