Behavioral Health Services Supervisor
Robert Presley Detention Center
Riverside, CA
The Riverside University Health System - Behavioral Health Detention Services is currently looking to fill a Behavioral Health Services Supervisor - Detention position at our adult facility in Riverside.
Under general direction, plans, organizes, and directs the activities of one or more behavioral health services programs in a detention facility; supervises the work of a multidisciplinary staff engaged in planning and providing a variety of behavioral health services to inmates; and performs other related duties as required.
The Behavioral Health Services Supervisor - Detention is the first line supervisor in charge of one or more behavioral health services programs within a detention facility and is responsible for planning or implementing specialized behavioral health services for inmates.
Incumbents are further responsible for maintaining the quality of staff performance and workload standards.
The shift for this position is a 9/80 shift from 7:00am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday with every other Friday off.
Incumbent are also required to complete a level one Sheriff background clearance.
About Detention Behavioral Health Services A mental health response team is available to address life threatening situations such as suicidal ideation or attempts in the jails.
All referred individuals receive a mental health evaluation to determine the presence of a psychiatric problem and identify the services needed.
Medication services are provided as needed along with follow up mental health referrals for outpatient services.
In addition to the base pay, Behavioral Health Services Supervisors assigned to DETENTION positions receive an hourly differential of 20%.
This differential applies to all hours worked, which is any regular or overtime hours worked up to 80 hours per pay period (it does not apply to the use of leave balances).
Please note this differential is temporary and can be removed at any time.
At any given time, there may be vacancies in the following detention centers:
Robert Presley Detention Center - Riverside
Cois Byrd Detention Center - Murrieta
Incumbents in this classification are eligible to receive a forensic mental health differential of 8.3%.
Bilingual Spanish is preferred and may be eligible for an added differential.

RUHS-Behavioral Health• Interviews consumers to team with mental health professionals in determining the needs of individuals or groups on a walk-in/telephone basis; responds to potential suicide or other emergency telephone calls; describes basic services to consumers; discusses goals and objectives of proposed treatment plans and establishes contract with consumer; assists consumer in recognizing and solving conditions in the consumer's environment which may contribute to mental health problems; as part of a team, counsels individual consumers and groups to develop social adjustment skills and to increase client resolution of identified problems.
