Intertek (BML) is a global leader in the provision of metallurgical testing, process flowsheet development and interpretation of mineralogical analyses.
With headquarters in, Kamloops, BC, we are now seeking an experienced Senior Metallurgist for our Kamloops location.
The successful candidate will be working on Mineral Processing projects and will have experience with comminution, flotation, leaching and pressure oxidation.
Experience in operations and metallurgical testing will be well suited for this role.
Specific Responsibilities
* Manage projects, which include the following activities:
+ Bid preparation
+ Client interaction
+ Complete metallurgical balances and communicate data to the clients
+ Analyze data and determine direction of the testing program based upon the results
+ Upon completion of the test program, analyze and present the data in a format suitable for using in the project final report
+ Write final technical reports for projects under management and projects managed by others if needed
* Conducting, supervising, and reporting bench scale and pilot plant test work
* Direct, supervise and when necessary, conduct test work in laboratory
* Liaising with a Technical Services Manager regarding ongoing test programmes
* Providing a mentoring role for other technical staff
* Observe established safety regulations and comply with all health and safety policies
* Other duties as assigned by the manager
Education and Experience Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Mineral Processing, Extractive Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering
* PEng registration preferred
* A minimum of 7 years’ experience in mineral processing; gold or base metals processing preferred

* Metallurgical testing in a laboratory setting is required
* Demonstrated leadership skills
* Good communication skills with well-developed written and oral skills

Our civil engineers, urban planners, and staff scientists work together daily to plan and create sustainable human environments by offering comprehensive land development services ranging from due diligence and master planning to design and construction administration.

Primary Function

This position is open to both part-time and full-time opportunities.
Primary Duties
* Knowledge of, and ability to interpret, technical specifications, contract requirements, engineering drawings, and standard construction details are critical requirements of the position.
* Responsibilities will include observing that the work is completed in general accordance with the drawings and specifications, daily field reporting, tracking contractor's installed quantities, witnessing tests, documenting test results and serving as liaison between engineer, contractor, and adjacent residents and businesses.
