What you will do to contribute to the company's success
* Keeping high quality connectivity is key to Sparklight .
You will maintain high level service by troubleshooting and diagnosing malfunctions in the Headend, HFC and fiber optic networks, and the Home Terminal Units.
* Supporting our customers by repairing both local plant performance issues and customer-owned equipment, using electronic test equipment.
* We are always growing and working to better our services.
You'll be reading and interpreting system/network design maps.
Verifying as built documentation; Comparing findings in the field with existing documentation and reporting findings following Company standard process.
* Splicing and/or terminating coaxial and fiber optics cables, mounting active and passive devices, both aerial and underground (cabinets and vaults), activating actives devices and testing to ensure optimal performance of all equipment in the HFC/fiber optic plant to Company, manufacturer, and design specifications.
* Performing surveys to determine if customer-requested locations are capable of receiving service.
Creating maps/drawings as necessary to assist in estimating costs for plant/drop extensions if location is beyond acceptable distance from existing plant.
* Performing underground facility locates accurately using plant maps and electronic locating equipment in order to prevent cable damage and service interruptions.
* Performing construction maintenance duties as necessary including: splicing aerial/underground coaxial and/or fiber optic cables and equipment to restore cable plant to system specification; splicing and activating new coaxial plant; repairing and/or replacing damaged aerial/underground plant; and inspecting, repairing and/or replacing power supplies.
* Continuously monitoring plant for ingress/egress and performs signal leakage ride-out activities and tracks and repairs signal leakage, as necessary.
* Training system technical personnel as directed by local system management.

Ardurra is seeking a Natural Gas Pipeline Inspector to join our staff in Huntsville, AL.
This position will support local natural gas pipeline installation projects in Madison County and the greater Huntsville, AL area.
In addition, there is also the opportunity to support water & wastewater infrastructure construction projects so experience with water & wastewater is a plus but not required.
A welding certification such as a Certified Pipeline Welding Inspector (CPWI) and/or American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector Certification will be highly valued and is preferred.
Primary Duties
* Knowledge of, and ability to interpret, technical specifications, contract requirements, engineering drawings, and standard construction details are critical requirements of the position.
* Responsibilities will include observing that the work is completed in general accordance with the drawings and specifications, daily field reporting, tracking contractors installed quantities, witnessing tests, documenting test results, and serving as a liaison between the engineer, contractor, and adjacent residents and businesses.
* Typical projects involve the construction of natural gas infrastructure projects, including pipelines, regulator stations, gate stations and other infrastructure using various construction methods.
* Knowledge of installation methods of polyethylene and welded steel pipelines, including open trenching and trenchless methods such as jack and bore and directional drilling are strongly preferred.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills and familiarity with operating smart devices and computers preferred.
* Qualified candidates may work on one or more projects simultaneously.
Education and Experience Requirements
* 3 or more years in the Construction field or Construction Management/Field Services.
* Background in utilities construction/inspections, including piping construction required.
Previous experience in municipal natural gas utility inspections is preferred.
