Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineer in Training (EIT) with 3+ years of civil engineering experience (primarily public works and water/wastewater) to join our team.
You will support design and delivery of municipal water and wastewater projects and assist on transportation assignments as needed.
Under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer, you will perform engineering analyses, prepare design drawings and specifications, assist with permitting and construction support, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and public agency clients.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with planning, hydraulic/hydrologic analyses, and detailed design for water distribution, sewer collection, pump stations, lift stations, water/wastewater treatment, and related public works projects
* Produce CAD/Civil 3D (or MicroStation) plans, profiles, details, and quantity takeoffs for pipeline, pump station, and site work
* Prepare technical specifications, cost estimates, permit applications, and design calculations
* Support transportation/roadway projects as assigned (drainage design, utility coordination, plan preparation)
* Participate in field investigations, data collection, and construction observation/support
* Review contractor submittals and respond to RFIs during construction
* Contribute to technical reports, project proposals, and client communications
* Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and project team members to meet schedule and budget goals
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
* EIT certification (or able to obtain within 6 months of hire)
* 3+ years of relevant engineering experience, primarily in public works and water/wastewater projects
* Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation; strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Experience with hydraulic/hydrologic and water/wastewater modeling tools (or willingness to learn)
* Familiarity with municipal permitting processes, standards, and agency coordination
* Strong written and verbal communication skills; organized and detail-oriented
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks
