Position Summary
The Staff Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating and treating patients, collaborating with healthcare team members, documenting services, and participating in staff training and education.
Key Responsibilities
* Evaluate patients within 24 hours (or 1 business day) of physician referral
* Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with physician approval
* Deliver treatment in accordance with physician orders and PT best practices
* Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants in accordance with state regulations
* Maintain detailed, accurate, and timely documentation of all patient care
* Participate in interdisciplinary meetings including Care Conferences and Utilization Reviews
* Provide caregiver education and training for post-discharge care
* Recommend and assist with ordering of durable medical equipment (DME)
* Ensure all department equipment is maintained in good working condition
* Conduct in-service education for facility staff
Qualifications
* Valid California Physical Therapy License (Required)
