ERM is hiring experienced Construction Safety Managers to provide on-site support for our key pharmaceutical client in Houston, TX.
In this critical role, you will be responsible for providing on-site observation of construction activities from an EHS perspective, ensuring health and safety compliance with applicable regulations and existing company standards, and contributing to an environment where employee health and safety are preserved.
You will be present during all site activities and responsible for all health and safety activities, and the delegation of duties to any other project team members.
This is a full-time (40 - 72 hours/week), limited-term role for a duration of 12 months, renewable.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Engage with general contractors and subcontractors on behalf of the owner, as the owner’s representative.
* Promote client’s safety culture across contractor and subcontractor groups.

What You Will Do
* Some core responsibilities for a Civil Foreman include:
* Strong knowledge of carpentry, tools, procedures, and best practices
* Ability to lead crews
* Must be willing and able to conduct morning production meeting with crews to discuss daily plans and concerns
* Assign job tasks to each crew member and ensure that each member is properly trained
* Must be able to coordinate work according to priorities and plans
* Being a safety role model for the team
* Enforcing OPD and client specific safety policies and procedures on the jobsite.
* Anticipate and recognize potential safety and environmental concerns and report them to the OPD Superintendent.
* Communicate and coordinate with OPD Superintendent, Logistics Manager, Construction Manager as required for material requirements and to schedule concrete pours and order rebar for delivery.
* Verify forms and concrete are set within client specifications.
* Must be competent with excavations, trenching, and soil.
Must be able to plan equipment, soil treatment, and safety considerations for all planned civil work.
* Must be able to lead by example and with respect
* Must contribute and maintain a clean job site
* Must be able to use a computer to write daily reports, employee discipline, JSAs, and use e-mail.

* Assist with tighten and loosen bolts on flange connections per ISO drawings and work plan
* Assist with installation/removal of blinds as needed for pressure testing purposes
* Possess skilled knowledge of pipe fittings, bolts, valves, etc.

* Help with assembling and securing pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications
* Use impact wrenches, combination wrenches, and line up pins to install valves and piping spools
