Essential Duties:
* Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement throughout the PECNA organization.
* Identifies and drives implementation of strategic EHS initiative and cross-functional, complex projects with large business impacts; identifies elements of change required to support the EHS strategy; balances short-term demands with long term benefits of strategic EHS initiatives.
* Collaborate with all departments and stakeholders to ensure that EHS policies, programs, procedures and trainings are clearly defined and communicated and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and conformance with the company's EHS management system.
* Serve as a technical consultant/subject matter expert to PECNA engineering and production teams for guidance on EHS programs and policies and best practices.
Key areas will include but not limited to Machine Guarding, Lock Out / Tag Out, Fall Protection, Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation, Laboratory Safety and Radiation Safety
* Develop and implement Management of Change processes.
Serve as primary contact for EHS during reviews and approvals.
* Lead/support equipment risk assessments and process hazard analyses.
Evaluate equipment design and suggest modifications and safety improvements
* Oversee chemical management, hazardous material storage, hazardous waste, recycling, air compliance, permits and sustainability efforts.
* Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local EHS laws, regulations, and standards.
Evaluate, advise, and stay current with emerging regulations and best practices.
* Support or lead incident reporting and analyses to determine root cause(s), prevention, and corrective measures.
