Georgia-Pacific is seeking a contribution motivated Clean Up Crew Member to join our Buildings and Grounds team at the Talladega, AL lumber mill.
The role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of mill operating areas in a safe and productive condition such that mill waste does not impede mill safety and environmental goals as well as production equipment.
Salary:
• Starting pay is at $20.00 hour, based on experience.
• You will have the ability to increase your compensation based on skills and contribution to the overall performance of the mill.
Schedule: 12-hour, Day Shift Only (6:00 a.m.
- 6:00 p.m.), 2/2/3 rotating schedule.
• Only candidates who are flexible and available to work any shift will be considered.
This will include overtime, holidays, and weekends based on Production needs.
What You Will Do
• Housekeeping and clean-up responsibilities are supporting role to mill operations and maintenance teams.
• Mill waste will either be reentered into mill process for by-product profit, placed in correct mill waste containers, or recycled or reused accordingly.
Proper disposal of all waste into appropriate roll-off containers, mill waste dumpsters, or process reentry hoppers or conveyors.
• Utilizes tools such as brooms, shovels, plows, and rakes to collect and remove process build up or trash from around mill equipment or areas where mobile equipment cannot reach.
• Clean-up areas will focus on areas immediately outside mill operations housekeeping responsibilities to support mill operations.
• Utilizing mill mobile equipment (skid steer, front end loader, etc.) for bulk removal of waste materials either through sweeping, shoveling, or pushing.
Maintains, repairs, and requests all tools required for performing job duties as necessary.
• Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures and actively participating in the safety program.
• Prepare work orders after finishing each job for any follow-up or corrective actions requiring maintenance assistance.
• Other duties as assigned and/or filling in other B&G team roles as required.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications):
• Previous experience in manufacturing, production, or large-scale industrial clean-up activities.

The Warehouse Receiving Associate is responsible for performing tasks related to receiving product, stocking and replenishment, and inventory control.
This includes safely unloading trucks and unpacking received product, comparing the purchase order to the product received for accuracy, counting quantities of product received and ensuring the quality of the product is at an acceptable level, and removing damaged or non-conforming product using data entry and retrieval devices to record receipt transaction (using scanners and computer input).
In addition, this position safely transfers material from receiving area to warehouse or dispensing locations and ensures proper stock rotation-utilizing PDAs to update the inventory system.
The Warehouse Assistant also audits shelf counts for accuracy, reviews inventory for short-dated and expired product, and reports discrepancies to the supervisor.
