ABOUT THE ROLE
Ensures the safe and timely delivery of prep product to the customer at the proper temperature and to the proper job site.
Returns to assigned plant in a timely manner for additional loads.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
* Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
* Drives truck trailer to transport various heavy equipment used by the contracting division for asphalt and construction projects in a safe, efficient and timely manner.
* Loads and unloads equipment.
* Makes sure equipment is securely fastened to trailer.
Communicates truck/job status to dispatch.
* Responsible for conducting pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safe operations of trucks.
* Keeps a driver's log for DOT.
* Maintains appearance of truck, keeps proper air pressure in tires, checks fluid levels including oil, hydraulic, coolant and fuel.
Performs minor repairs to truck as needed.
* Assists with other duties as assigned by management.
* Interacts with internal and external customers and provides excellent customer service.
* Maintains good public relations with customers.
* Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
* Licenses Required: Valid Class A CDL, (tanker endorsement preferred), DOT physical card and current, clean MVR Must have good directional knowledge and be able to navigate from point to point in a safe manner
* Required Education: High School diploma/GED
* Required Work Experience: Minimum of one year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Prior experience working in contracting, constructions materials or transporting equipment.
* Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
