Assist Hygienist, set up equipment, prepare patient for hygiene treatment and keep records
Essential Functions

• Prepare patient, sterilize or disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials, or assist dentist/hygienist during dental procedures.
• Record treatment information in patient records.
• Expose dental diagnostic x-rays.
Is responsible for x-ray sensor care and guidelines.
• Coronal polish all surfaces of the teeth efficiently to assist the Hygienist during the patient’s preventative and/or periodontal visit.
• Take and record medical and dental histories and vital signs of patients.
• Assist Hygienist in management of medical or dental emergencies.
• Provide postoperative instructions prescribed by Hygienist.
• Make post-operative calls to patients.
• Instruct patients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs.
• Order and monitor dental supplies and equipment inventory for Hygiene department.
• Schedule appointments, make any necessary calls to maintain a full hygiene schedule.
Follow up with patient on any missed appointments and reschedule accordingly.
• Apply protective coating of fluoride to teeth.
• Placement of sealants as prescribed by Dentist.
• Position may be required to relocate to other Dental Depot clinics either permanently or on a short term basis due to office needs, on an as needed basis at the discretion of Management.
• Complies with: Dental Depot policies and procedures; OSHA policies, procedures, rules, and regulations; and HIPAA policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
• This position may complete other Administrative and Maintenance tasks as assigned by Management.

Skills & Abilities
Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED):
Required Experience: Completion of Dental Assisting school or minimum three months experience in a dental office.
Certifications & Licenses: Dental Assistant permit within 30 days of employment required.
Coronal Polish Certificate and Radiation Certificate within six month of employment required.
Computer Skills: Dental Software knowledge (Eaglesoft knowledge preferred, but not required.) Knowledge of all Microsoft Office products.
Other Requirements: Must have a valid driver's license, proof of valid vehicle insurance and must have annual Motor Vehicle Record Check, as a condition of employment if employee operates any Company owned vehicles or drives their own personal vehicle for Company business purposes.
Must have signed the Hepatitis B Vaccination Form declining or accepting the vaccination within 30 days of Employment.

At Nicklaus Children’s Hospital our mission is to provide the best care to every child.
Our Bridge Program is specifically designed to support RNs that HAVE worked, but only for a period of under 6 months (by July 14, 2025) in a non-acute care setting (home health, school nursing, case management, etc.) and would be transitioning to the acute pediatric RN role. Standardized onboarding programs are best practice and have been proven to decrease turnover, decrease medication errors, increase engagement and strengthen nursing knowledge and skills which support quality patient care.
Nurses are given a thorough orientation through didactic curriculum, interactive online modules, simulation, and hands on training with their preceptors.
The result is a gain of increased proficiency and clinical experience across multiple specialties. If selected for this position a commitment of approximately 2 years will be required.
The following are the requirements and process to follow in order to qualify for the Bridge Program.
* Must have an active Florida RN license (or multi-state including Florida)
* BSN degree is required from an accredited (ACEN or CCNE) BSN program.
(Internal NCH employees may be given an exception)
* Must have worked as an RN, but for a period of less than 6 months in a non-acute care setting. (If you are a new grad RN that has never worked as an RN, you should apply for the Horizon Residency program, not Bridge program)
The Process for this program: After reading the program requirements in the posting to confirm you meet the requirements, please complete the application in its entirety including all prescreening questions and upload your resume.

Job Summary
The Bridge Program is a structured RN Program that provides a comprehensive new RN on-boarding experience in an acute care pediatric setting.
Manages and directs nursing care activities, coordinates care planning, collaborates with the clinical and medical staff, and educates patients and their family members on the procedure in a compassionate patient and family centered care environment.
Supports and upholds quality standards of a Magnet designated hospital and Patient Bill of Rights.
Minimum Job Requirements
* BSN degree is required from an accredited (ACEN or CCNE) BSN program.

* RN Licensure within the State of Florida or Multi-State Enhanced Nursing License Compact (eNLC) – maintain active and in good standing throughout employment

* Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - required within 1 year of hire as specified by the department

General Purpose
The primary purpose of your job position is to provide each of your assigned residents with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the resident's assessment and care plan, and as may be directed by your supervisors.

Responsibilities:
