Job Specific Duties

Position Summary:
The Urgent Care Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (UC PMHNP) provides direct care to referred pediatric and adult patients in the Behavioral Health Urgent Care Service (BHUCS) and affiliated locations at EBNHC including the Satellite Emergency Facility (SEF).
The UC PMHNP is responsible for providing quality patient care under the guidance of the Medical Director of the Urgent Care and in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
The UC PMHNP reports to the Medical Director of the BH UC or designee.
The UC PMHNP will provide emergency psychopharmacologic evaluations and prescriptions to adults and children presenting to the BHUCS in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
This position is part of a team that staffs the Behavioral Health Urgent Care Service (BHUCS) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and as such will include shifts that cover that time frame.

• In coordination with the Director of Nursing Services (DNS), develops, communicates, and maintains nursing policies and procedures that reflect current clinical practice, professional standards, and company and facility philosophy of care consistent with Federal and State laws and corporate policies and procedures.
• Establishes criteria and monitors performance to assure that services provided meet established standards of quality.
• Collaborates with other departments, professionals, consultants, and organizations, including government agencies and advocacy groups, to develop and support the coordination of resident care, related administrative functions and to represent the interest of the facility.
