General Purpose

• Ensure that the Nursing Service Procedures Manual is current and reflects the day-to-day nursing procedures performed in this facility.
• Ensure that all nursing service personnel comply with the procedures set forth in the Nursing Service Procedures Manual.
• Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the Director as necessary/required, concerning the operation of the nursing service department.
• Periodically review the department's policies, procedure manuals, job descriptions, etc.
Make recommendations for revisions to the Director.

Oakwood Gardens Care Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time AM shift position.
This role is responsible for supervising day-to-day nursing activities, ensuring high-quality resident care, and supporting our nursing team in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Administration
* Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day nursing activities on the AM shift
* Assist the Director of Nursing (DON) and ADON in implementing and maintaining nursing policies and procedures
* Participate in quality assurance, audits, and facility surveys as requested
* Complete documentation, medical forms, incident/accident reports, and evaluations in a timely and accurate manner
* Help coordinate nursing services with other departments to support resident-centered care
Clinical Care
* Provide direct nursing care as needed
* Admit, transfer, and discharge residents in accordance with facility procedures
* Conduct daily rounds to monitor resident condition and staff performance
* Review nurses' notes, care plans, and treatments to ensure they reflect accurate, resident-focused care
* Communicate changes in resident condition to physicians, families, and leadership
Staff Support & Supervision
* Ensure adequate RN/LVN/CNA staffing levels on your shift
* Develop and assist with assignments for nursing staff
* Support staff development through coaching, mentoring, and participation in in-service training
* Help create and maintain a calm, positive, and professional environment for residents and staff
Safety, Infection Control & Compliance
* Promote and enforce infection control, safety, and sanitation standards
* Ensure appropriate use of PPE and safe handling of equipment and supplies
* Participate in fire safety, disaster drills, and emergency response as needed
* Protect resident privacy and comply with all HIPAA and facility confidentiality policies
Qualifications
* Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California
* Current CPR certification
* Nursing degree from an accredited college or university
* Training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices preferred
* 2+ years of experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility preferred
* Knowledge of nursing and medical practices, as well as SNF regulations and guidelines
* Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
* Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) preferred
