A Day in the Life of a CNA
CNAs support patient care in a variety of ways, depending on the setting.
A few examples of how CNAs spend their workday include:
* Assisting with bathing, dressing and grooming tasks such as hair care, brushing teeth and shaving.
* Helping residents at mealtimes, including transporting them to the dining room and assisting them with eating and drinking.
* Repositioning and transferring residents from a bed to a wheelchair or from a wheelchair to the toilet.
* Obtaining resident vital signs, such as heart rate and blood pressure, and recording observations.
* Answering patient call lights and assisting in fulfilling requests.
* Building meaningful relationships with our residents, providing not only care but companionship.

Training for a Career as a Certified Nurse Aide
Training occurs over a 2 week period including 30 hours of classroom work and 45 hours of hands on clinical training.
You will work with and be supported by ASC instructors, nurses and CNAs who have taken the same path.
After completion of the CNA program and testing, additional pathways and opportunities are available to those who want to advance their career in nursing. Our Talent Acquisition Partners will assist you in applying for a position at one of our many Indiana-based communities.

General Purpose
The Staff Physical Therapist Assistant assists the Staff Therapist with patient related activities and direct patient care.
Essential Duties
• Treat patients as directed by Physical Therapist.
• Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per PT Board.
• Assist in maintaining department.
• Participate in Patient Care and Rehabilitation Conferences, as needed.
• Assist with cleaning and maintenance of treatment area.
• Treat patients per the physician treatment plan.
• Assist nursing department with training of Restorative Aides.
• Communicate with supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, problem and plans.
• Participate in in-services training program for other staff in the facility.
• Record treatment changes per policy and procedures.
• Instruct patient's families or nursing staff in maintenance program and caregiver training in preparation for discharge from therapy services.
• Report any problems with department equipment so that it is maintained in good working order.

The Inpatient Medical Coder II is responsible for coding and applying ICD-10-CM and PCS codes as applicable to code medical records for Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital. Reviews data from the medical record to determine or confirm codes.
Performs analysis of physician documentation and provides feedback for improvement.
Collaborates with internal and external resources to obtain additional documentation to support the services provided, documentation and codes billed.
Responsibilities:
* Reviews medical record to correctly apply and/or validate ICD-10-CM IRF-PAI codes.
* Supports timely, accurate and complete documentation of clinical information, facilitating modifications to clinical documentation to support services rendered and reimbursement received.
* Maintains knowledge of coding rules and regulations by staying current on issues regarding medical coding, compliance and reimbursement.
* Ability to accurately assign the IGC, etiologic diagnosis, and principal diagnosis for the UB04 and all applicable comorbidities, complications, and procedure codes
* Maintains coding accuracy of 95% or above for assigned codes.
* Completes the coding and data entry within four days of receipt and follows standard coding protocols for appropriate assignment of diagnoses and procedures.
* Seeks clarification for missing or inadequate information needed for accurate code assignment from appropriate resources.
* Maintains individual production defined by productivity standards with minimal supervision.
* Examines records timely; reviewing principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures
* Identifies records with opportunities for improved documentation.
* Communicates with designated staff either directly or through queries to facilitate complete and accurate documentation.
* Provides feedback regarding current coding practices and changes in regulations and guidelines to improve the accuracy of final code assignment
* Assists in maintaining accounts receivables at minimal levels as defined by departmental protocol by accurately assessing and correcting issues regarding medical necessity, claims denials, bundling issue sand charge capture.
* Efficiently uses available reference and coding tools and third party payer resources to research, maintain knowledge and provide feedback to department.
Qualifications:
* Associate or Bachelor’s Degree, preferred but not required
* A minimum of 5 years of coding experience as a certified medical coder
* Inpatient Rehabilitation experience preferred but not required
Hours: 40 Hours per week, Monday - Friday
This is a Remote position.

Bridge HIV is a grant-funded research unit affiliated with the San Francisco Department of Public Health and the University of California San Francisco.
Under the direction of Susan Buchbinder, MD, Bridge HIV has been conducting HIV and STI preventive vaccine studies, HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) studies (including oral and injectable medications), and other studies of biomedical HIV prevention strategies since the early days of the epidemic.
The Bridge HIV Investigators are global leaders in HIV vaccine and prevention science, epidemiology of HIV infection, HIV medication adherence, combination HIV prevention strategies, and HIV research training methods.

Under the direct supervision of the Medical Director, the registered nurse (RN) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) will be part of a dynamic team conducting HIV prevention trials.
The study clinician will provide clinical services for research participants at the 25 Van Ness research clinic site.
The RN or NP will perform regular review and follow-up of laboratory results and conduct quality control activities on study documentation.
The RN or NP will assist with other clinical/administrative tasks to ensure proper conduct of research activities.
The RN or NP will also support HIV prevention trials including HIV vaccine, microbicide, and PrEP studies.
This is a temporary, grant-funded, full-time, benefitted position.

This position requires the employee to work Monday through Friday onsite, with some evening hours required.
Pay rate: $176,000.00 annually
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Clinical Responsibilities
• Offer direct clinical services to study participants.
This includes conducting medical/behavioral histories and physical exams under the supervision of the Medical Director; providing study-related education and obtaining written informed consent; following up on urgent and outstanding adverse events and concomitant medication changes; providing HIV/STI risk reduction counseling and testing and medication adherence counseling.
• Conducting study visits in Spanish as needed.
• Provide appropriate mental and physical health referrals.
• Administer study drugs as indicated per protocols; maintain accurate study product logs (including temperature, chain-of-custody, and administration).
• Perform phlebotomy and routine point-of-care tests.
• Collect blood and other biological specimens as needed.
• Obtain necessary sign off on adverse events (AEs) from covering MD investigator.
Fulfill internal and external reporting requirements for adverse and serious adverse events.
• Keep professional certification current.
Ensure continuing education credit requirements are up to date.
• Maintain valid CPR certification (BLS-HCP).
