This is a Hemodialysis In-Center Clinical Consulting position located in Western North Carolina / Charlotte, North Carolina.
PURPOSE AND SCOPE
The Clinical Consultant has a key role to play as part of the Sales and Marketing organization.
The right candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving customer relationships, with a focus on enhancing revenue in select existing and new accounts.
This individual will need to have a strong clinical background and understanding, with the ability to develop a Center strategy.
A proven track record of excellence in customer relations, as well as the ability to build and execute on strategic plans will be essential.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical Consulting:
* Assessment of facilities and implementation of a plan for training and continued improvement utilizing holistic account principles and business models.
Incorporates knowledge of nursing demands and facility productivity.
* Ability to interact with and motivate nursing staff ancillary staff as well as mid-level and senior level leadership to accomplish common goals.
* Mentoring of Clinical Educators to improve knowledge base and facilitation of the consultative process.
* Assist in quality improvement and instruction on managing patient outcomes.
* Work collaboratively with assigned area and regional account executives to develop strategic account planning and targeting; to ensure teamwork and proper allocation of nursing resources.
Nurse Training:
* Effectively train and motivate nursing staff to be successful trainers
* Effectively train nursing staff on therapy concepts and practical applications
* Ability to communicate regulations and policies (National, Regional, and Facility)
* Plan and implement regional educational sessions as necessary (basic, advanced) for nurses.
* Maintain clinical competency through nephrology literature, meetings, products and services and their clinical application.

This physician will play a key role in a 34-bed dedicated Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) with 24-hour coverage, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver state-of-the-art critical care to patients with complex cardiovascular conditions.

Qualifications and Experience

Administrative Functions Assist the Director of Nursing Services in directing the day to day functions of the nursing activities in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long term care facility.
Participate in developing, maintaining, and updating written policies and procedures that govern the day to day functions of the nursing service department.
Ensure that reference material (i.e., PDR'S, regulations, professional standards of practice, etc.) maintained at the nurses' stations is current.
Recommend written material that will assist the nursing service department in meeting the day to day needs of the resident.
Ensure that the Nursing Service Procedures Manual is current and reflects the day to day nursing procedures performed in this facility.
Ensure that all nursing service personnel comply with the procedures set forth in the Nursing Service Procedures Manual.
Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the Director as necessary/required, concerning the operation of the nursing service department.
Periodically review the department's policies, procedure manuals, job descriptions, etc.
Make recommendations for revisions to the Director.
Assist in developing methods for coordinating nursing services with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the residents' total regimen of care.
Ensure that all nursing service personnel are in compliance with their respective job descriptions.
Participate in the development, maintenance and implementation of the facility's quality assurance program for the nursing service department.
Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies as requested by the Administrator or Director of Nursing Services.
Periodically review the resident's written discharge plan.
Participate in the updating of the resident's written discharge plan as required.
Assist the Director in planning the nursing services portion of the resident's discharge plan as necessary.
Meet with the nursing staff, as well as support personnel, in planning the department's services, programs, and activities.
Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
Complete accident/incident reports as necessary.
Interpret the department's policies and procedures to personnel, residents, visitors, and government agencies as required.
Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc., asnecessary.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Medical Assistant provides clinical service support in the On Lok health clinics, under the administrative direction and supervision of the Program/Center Manager or Nurse Manager (float positions only), and with clinical supervision of the Center Lead Physician.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.
Assist with the provision of clinic technical support services such as obtaining vital signs, performing EKGs, collecting lab work, performing blood draws, blood glucose testing, skin testing, immunizations, and other tasks within scope of practice.
2.
Collect and record clinical data into electronic health records; assist providers with data entry functions such as updating health maintenance records.
3.
Schedule and coordinate clinic appointments, provide reminders to participants.
4.
Assist with rooming and checking out of participants.
5.
Prepares exam rooms, order and restocking of clinic supplies, sterilize/disinfect clinic equipment.
6.
Other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS (knowledge, skills, abilities):
1.
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
2.
Phlebotomy certification or experience is preferred.
3.
One year of experience working with the elderly or frail population required.
4.
Ability to work independently and as part of interdisciplinary team.
5.
Bilingual ability may be required for specific assignments.
6.
Physical requirements include visual acuity and the ability to lift /move up to 75 pounds occasionally, and up to 50 pounds frequently.
