General Purpose
The primary purpose of your job position is to perform respiratory/pulmonary therapy, management, rehabilitation, diagnostic evaluation, and direct care to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities, which affect the pulmonary system.
Essential Duties

• Reports changes in the patient's respiratory status to the Director/Supervisor of Respiratory Care Services, the nurse primarily responsible for the patient, and the physician, as needed, and prior to leaving the facility
• Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel, as well as other departments within the facility.
• Agree not to disclose resident's protected health information and promptly report suspected or known violations of such disclosure to the Administrator.
• Assume the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability of performing the assigned duties of this position.
• Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information.

Job Summary:
Mission Valley Post Acute is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pulmonary Nurse LVN to join our clinical team on a part-time basis.
The ideal candidate will have experience in respiratory care and a strong commitment to providing high-quality nursing services to patients with pulmonary conditions.
This role involves close collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to support patient recovery and improve respiratory health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide skilled nursing care to patients with respiratory and pulmonary conditions
* Monitor and assess patients' respiratory status, including oxygen saturation and lung sounds
* Administer medications, treatments, and oxygen therapy as prescribed
* Assist with pulmonary rehabilitation and breathing treatments (e.g., nebulizers, inhalers)
* Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals
* Accurately document patient care, progress, and any changes in condition
* Educate patients and families on respiratory health, treatments, and care plans
* Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and facility policies
Qualifications:
* Current Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in good standing (California)
* Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; pulmonary or respiratory care experience preferred
* Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
* Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
* Current CPR/BLS certification required
Schedule:
* Part-time hours; flexible scheduling may be available
* Weekend and holiday availability may be required

Full job description:
Complete nutritional initial, quarterly, annual and significant change reviews on residents according to federal and state
guidelines.
Assist in coordination of nutrition care services with Dietary Supervisor.
Complete nutritional reviews monthly
on high risk residents (significant weight loss/gain, pressure ulcer, hemodialysis, and tube fed).
Essential Duties
• Ability to meet all health, compliance, and competency requirements.
• Attends and participates in morning meetings/stand up to facilitate communications with the team.
• Assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions and current health plans in order to develop and implement dietary care
plans and provides nutritional counseling as needed.
• Monitor food services operations to ensure conformance to nutritional, safety, sanitation and quality standards, as
well as state and federal regulations.
• Monitor food control systems such as food temperatures, portion control, preparation methods, garnishment and
presentation of food in order to ensure that food is prepared and presented in an acceptable manner.
• Inspect diet trays for conformance to physician's diet orders prior to delivery.
• Consult with physicians and other health care personnel (Dialysis Dietitians, Nurse Practitioners, etc.) to
determine diet restrictions and nutritional needs of residents.
• Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with patients/residents, families, staff and professional
colleagues.
