Your mentor will help you complete a proficiency checklist verifying expert-level practice.
Along with other assignments you will need to complete an NHC sponsored geriatric exercise prescription course.
The program requires a two-year commitment starting at the exam date or repay $4,000 for program costs if the commitment isn't fulfilled.
Participants are expected to take the Board Certification in Gerontology exam by June 30, 2027.
Certified OTs are also expected to create CEU or approved training content for other therapists seeking to become clinical experts.
