The Plumber's primary job function is to assemble, install and repair pipes, fittings and fixtures of medical gas, steam, heating, cooling, pneumatic, water, sanitary and drainage systems.
Maintain systems to minimize the risk of a utility interruption.
Responsibilities :
Installs and repairs plumbing fixtures including but not limited to: sinks, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, garbage disposal units, dishwashers and water softeners.
Repairs and maintains plumbing by replacing washers in leaky fixtures, mending pipes, and opening clogged drains.
Cuts openings in wall and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.
Inspects structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from installation of pipe.
Cuts and threads pipe.
Bends pipe lo required angle by use of pipe bending machine or by hand blending pipe.
Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipe composed of metals, such as iron, steel, brass, and lead and nonmetals such as glass, vitrified clay and plastic.
Joins pipe by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, caulk joints, victraulic connectors, welding, soldering, brazing, or other methods as prescribed by Manager or engineering instruction.
Fits pipe systems with steam, water or air and reads pressure gauges to determine if system is leaking.
Receives and reviews work orders and prioritizes assignments.
Completes all assigned Preventative Maintenance (PMs) and Corrective Maintenance work orders in a timely and professional manner.
Actively participates in the implementation and ongoing evaluation and improvement of Plumbing system.
Complete assigned rounds in a timely and competent manner.
Collaborates with other members of the Facility Department and promptly contacts outside contractors and vendors as needed to maintain the Plumbing system.
Keeps Manager and Lead aware of system issues.
Reports any complication on specific jobs or equipment to Lead and Manager as appropriate.
Responds to emergency situations throughout the facility
Actively participates in the implementation and ongoing evaluation and improvement of Plumbing system preventive maintenance program.
Maintains the facility Plumbing systems according to state and local facility regulatory code and accrediting agency standards.
Provides advance notice of maintenance and repairs to affected departments.
Acts to minimize the risk of utility outages and keeps affected departments, Command Center and leaders informed of any outages or potential for outages.
Collaborates with manager to reduce risk of utility interruptions
Qualifications :
* Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) plus experience of not less than 3 years working as a Plumber with 5 or more years' experience preferred
