Maximus is hiring a Clinical Reviewer to support the Illinois SALT program.
The Clinical Reviewer is responsible for evaluating assessments and making determinations regarding individuals' needs for additional supports and services.
This is a remote position and follows a schedule of four 10-hour days, Thursday through Sunday.
About the program
We have contracted with the State of Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) to manage the assessment process for Preadmission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) Level I screens and completing Level II Serious Mental Illness (SMI) evaluations for individuals applying to, or residing in, Medicaid-certified nursing facilities.
Other services include Follow Up Visits, admissions support for Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facilities (SMHRF) and Supported Living Programs (SLP) settings and Colbert Dementia Review.
Continues to expand assessment services in the state.

The Clinic Assistant is responsible for assisting providers and veterans on exam days in any manner needed, general problem solving in a solutions-oriented manner for both providers and veterans and updating case statuses as available.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform all job functions in compliance with HIPAA policies and adhere to local and externally relevant health and safety laws and policies.
- Gather and provide necessary information to providers; may include gathering forms, documents, and vital signs necessary to the evaluation.
- Provide a high level of customer service by greeting and directing all visitors, answering inquiries, confirming contact and appointment information, and otherwise facilitating a positive experience.
- Document all actions taken and other pertinent information as it relates to veteran and provider interaction.
- Clean exam rooms between each appointment and otherwise maintain stock and cleanliness of the clinic throughout the day.
- Ability to work onsite in the Newport News, VA clinic required
- Must be willing and able to travel to other clinics as needed
- Must be willing and able to work some weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday) as needed
- Customer service/hospitality industry experience highly preferred
- Valid Driver License required (not currently suspended/revoked/expired)
*For positions on this contract, Maximus will pay the prevailing wage rate for the location in which the employee is working, as determined by the Department of Labor.
That wage rate will vary depending on locality.
