The Department of Pediatrics, Nemours Children's Hospital in Orlando, Florida , seeks a dynamic and innovative full-time Professor or Associate Professor Academic Hospitalist to lead its Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine.
The Division Chief will provide strategic and operational leadership with responsibility and accountability across the full range of mission areas to maintain and grow clinical, educational, and research programs; guide faculty development; participate in the clinical teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows; and mentor faculty, trainees and medical students.

3 West is a 24-bed medical surgical unit for patients 0-21 years of age.
This unit is designated for orthopedic patients, patients in need of comprehensive rehabilitation and acute rehabilitation of both traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury, ventilator-dependent patients, and patients with tracheotomies.

* Performs preventative maintenance on instruments and does instrument function checks to ensure Instruments are reliable and accurate.
* Uses the laboratory computers in various aspects of testing and reporting.
* Receives and/or collects specimens directly from the patient and prepares the specimens for analysis.
* Ensures media and reagents are available for use by the Clinical Laboratory Scientists by preparing, pouring and sterilizing media.
* Assists the Clinical Laboratory Scientist in patient testing by setting up cultures and staining slides, and other duties as assigned.
* Ensures the laboratory equipment is functioning properly by monitoring and recording operational data from freezers, refrigerators, water baths and other equipment as needed or required.
* Assists physicians in the accurate diagnosis of patients by verifying all results with a Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
* Adheres to the established safety procedures and reports any unsafe conditions immediately to the Supervisor or Department Head.
* Applies the Hospital's Policies and Procedures regarding guest relations.
* Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Education: Work requires knowledge generally acquired through a high school education or GED.
Some college education is desirable.
Licensure: Current BLS/Healthcare Provider status as per American Heart Association standards preferred.
Experience: Previous experience as a Laboratory Technician is preferred.
