Chubb is seeking an Assistant Vice President to lead its Hospital Excess claims team.
The Hospital Excess team is part of Chubb Medical Risk Claims and provides specialized claim handling of professional liability Medical Risk claims arising from hospitals.
This position is responsible for technical supervision, development, and oversight of the Hospital Excess claim team.
In this role you will manage a team of six or more claim professionals who manage complex medical liability claims nationwide.
This position will require some travel, as well as coordinating with and servicing both internal and external business partners.
You will represent the company at meetings with management and business partners, as well as at mediations, arbitrations, settlement conferences and trials.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Assist team members in developing and executing claim resolution strategies.
* Train, develop and manage a team of handlers who are newer to the insurance industry, by developing and executing on individual professional development plans for each team member.
* Recognize significant potential exposures on claims and prepare appropriate alerts to senior managers and our internal business partners.

* Analyzes and identifies coverage issues timely coverage, and communicates coverage positions to appropriate parties.
